Ishita Banerjii grew up in Kolkata, India, coming to Kansas to finish her architecture degree. Since moving to the United States more than 20 years ago, she has traveled coast to coast several times, experiencing all the sites and landmarks. She also takes her passion for travel internationally, exploring Europe and South America with her husband and son. Some of Ishita’s favorite trips, though, are back home to India to visit her family.
She stays deeply rooted in Indian culture by engaging with the local Bengali community. She contributes her architecture and design expertise to the planning of Durga Puja, the largest Bengali religious festival, each Fall.
Ishita says she loves working at Hollis + Miller because she believes a quality space has the power to inspire and elevate its occupants and designing learning environments has the particular privilege of motivating young lives.
