We’re pleased to announce the Kansas City Business Journal has selected Hollis + Miller Partner Michelle Chavey for its 2020 class of NextGen Leaders.
The NextGen program is designed to unite emerging talent in the Kansas City business community to “build their knowledge and skill sets, and to connect them with each other and the present generation of Kansas City leaders.”
“I’m thrilled to stand amongst so many incredibly talented individuals from across so many different industries,” Chavey said. “It’s an honor to be selected to this year’s class of NextGen leaders, and I look forward to the impact we can make together for the future of Kansas City.”
Since joining the firm, Michelle has completed her master’s in Architectural Management and is currently pursuing her doctorate degree in education. She worked to become the firm’s only certified educational planner, as well as its educational design director, and she’s spent extensive time and research helping to develop the firm’s co-create process, bridging the gap among educators, designers and students.
In addition, Michelle helped to develop the Kansas City chapter of Association for Learning Environments (A4LE), a national organization focused on educational design, and was named Outstanding Volunteer of the Year for the Midwest Region in 2018. She was also named as one of BD+C’s 40 under 40 in 2019.
