Matt Keys, AIA, NCARB, LEED AP
There are many words that could describe Matt Keys, but boring isn’t one of them. Matt started his life like any other kid, born in New York, raised in California and uprooted in the middle of his adolescent life to the Midwest.
After graduation from the University of Kansas, Matt focused his architectural career on athletic and sports design and became known as the “SEC football guy,” working with clients such as Alabama, Georgia, Mizzou and Mississippi State. Matt joined Hollis + Miller to marry his passion for sports and education, most recently playing a major part in the Blue Springs School District additions and improvements.
Family is number one with Matt. His wife Katie, and two children, Charlie and Maggie, have been his main focus and motivation for pursuing a career that maintains a healthy work/life balance.
Aside from Matt’s many creative outlets, including frisbee golf and break dancing, he currently teaches a fourth-year sports and entertainment design studio at the University of Kansas.
Oh, and ask him about the name of his Ska band in high school.
